Coast Guard seized 40 kg cannabis in Bhola, two drug peddlers detained

Bangladesh Coast Guard personnel detained two drug peddlers along with 40 kilograms of cannabis worth an estimated Tk 16 lakh during an anti-narcotics drive in Bhola Sadar Upazila.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon said this in a press release on Monday morning.
Acting on a confidential tip, an operational team from Coast Guard Base Bhola conducted a special raid in the Baghar Hawla area under Ward No. 6 of Purba Ilisha Union on Sunday afternoon at approximately 5:00 pm. During the operation, law enforcers intercepted and searched a suspicious auto-rickshaw (CNG), recovering 40 kilograms of contraband cannabis and apprehending two individuals on the scene.
Legal proceedings have been taken to hand over the seized narcotics and the detained suspects to local police authorities, the press release added.
