Two touts sentenced to prison following drive at BRTA Turag office

A mobile court has sentenced two members of a middleman syndicate to one month of simple imprisonment each following an anti-tout drive conducted at the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Dhaka Metro-3 Circle office in Turag.
The mobile court, led by an executive magistrate, executed the drive at approximately 4:40 pm on Sunday with active support from on-duty Bangladesh Ansar and VDP personnel stationed at the premises.
The convicted individuals have been identified as Md. Alamgir Hossain, 43, son of Sultan Ahmed from Gendaria, Jatrabari, and Md. Mizanur Rahman, 44, son of Amin Ullah Bhuiyan from Mugda, Kamalapur.
During the operation, law enforcers recovered various unauthorized vehicle-related documents from the suspects, including applications for new registrations, fitness certificates, and ownership transfer forms.
Following their conviction by the executive magistrate's court, both individuals were handed over to local police for further legal processing. Officials emphasized that Ansar members remain routinely deployed alongside mobile courts across government service centers to prevent harassment by illegal touts and maintain discipline.
