Disaster Management Minister demands justice for atrocities against Rohingya

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, MP demanded justice for crimes against humanity committed against the forcibly displaced Rohingya population during an official meeting at the Secretariat on Monday afternoon.
The Minister made the call during a bilateral meeting with Nicholas Koumjian, Head of the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM).
During the discussion, Minister Asadul Habib Dulu urged the IIMM to play an active role in restoring the legitimate rights of the forcibly displaced Rohingya and facilitating their sustainable and safe repatriation to Myanmar.
Briefing the Minister, Nicholas Koumjian stated that over 154,000 Rohingya have crossed the border into Bangladesh since early 2024, joining more than a million Rohingya already residing in camps who remain unable to return safely due to ongoing violence and insecurity in Rakhine State. He noted that the influx underscores the direct impact of Myanmar's internal developments on the prolonged displacement crisis in Bangladesh.
