Local Government, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain has said they have no fear of death and nothing to lose.
In a Facebook post on Thursday night, the adviser wrote: "The crocodile you are inviting by joining the BAL, North & Delhi alliance will devour you. You're not one of them—just co-opted temporarily."
The post also stated, "We have no fear of death or loss. Our only regret is that democratic transformation and the future of this country no longer seem to be heading in a positive direction."
Asif, one of the July uprising heroes, also mentioned that the pain of dreaming and shattering dreams is perhaps the destiny of this nation.
Meanwhile, BNP leader Ishraque Hossain’s supporters continued protests demanding the resignation of Asif and Information Adviser Mahfuj Alam despite the High Court on Thursday cleared the way for his swearing-in as mayor.
The demonstrators vowed to remain on the streets until two of the advisers to the interim government step down.
Following the court verdict, which removed legal barriers to his assumption of office, Ishraque took to Facebook and wrote, “Until we hear the resignation of the two student advisers, the protests will continue. Don’t leave the streets—intensify the movement.”
Hundreds of his supporters braved heavy rain to hold their sit-in at the Matsya Bhaban intersection in the capital.
