
DU Swimming Pool reopens after one year

After being closed for over a year, the swimming pool at the University of Dhaka has resumed operations on a trial basis.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, inaugurated the reopening as the chief guest on the evening of Monday.
Initially, the pool will operate on a limited scale. Full-scale swimming and training activities for students will begin once necessary renovations, lifeguard appointments, and other safety measures are completed.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Treasurer of the University and Chairman of the Swimming Pool Management Committee. Among those present were Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Public Service Commission Member Prof Dr. Md. Sharif Hossain, Proctor Associate Prof Saifuddin Ahmed, Physical Education Centre Advisor Prof Dr. S. M. Mostafa Al Mamun, Acting Director S. M. Zakaria, as well as deans, teachers, students, officials, and staff from various faculties.
