Foundation stone laid for Indoor Stadium in Rajshahi: Land Minister vows to build modern, prosperous city

Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, has stated that the foundation stone of a modern indoor stadium has been laid in a picturesque area of the metropolis under the initiative of the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), emphasizing that the facility will play a vital role in building a modern and prosperous city.
The minister made these remarks on Saturday afternoon while addressing an audience as the chief guest at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Rajshahi Indoor Stadium, situated opposite the Rajshahi Boalia Club.
Commending the ongoing activities of the City Corporation, the Land Minister remarked that Rajshahi City Corporation's development initiatives are currently among the most advanced in Bangladesh.
He announced that all lands under the Ministry of Land within the Rajshahi metropolitan area will be promptly transferred to the City Corporation to facilitate various development projects, thereby further accelerating urban progress.
The chief guest added that, in alignment with the visionary thoughts and aspirations of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Rajshahi will be developed as a popular and thriving metropolis.
Presided over by Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, the event was attended by Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Foyzul Kabir, Additional District Commissioner Sabur Ali, RCC Secretary Sohel Rana, Superintending Engineers Khairul Baker and Ahmed Al Moin Parag, Chief Revenue Officer Abu Sahel Md. Nur-e-Said, Chief Health Officer Dr. F.A.M. Anjuman Ara Begum, Executive Engineers Mahmudur Rahman Imon, Nilufar Yasmin, and A.B.M. Asaduzzaman Sweet, along with engineering department officials, divisional and district administration personnel, political leaders, and journalists.
Following the ceremony, the Land Minister planted a bakul sapling on the indoor stadium premises, while the RCC Administrator planted an almond (kathbadam) tree, and the RMP Commissioner planted a neem sapling.
Constructed with the overall cooperation of the Rajshahi divisional and district administrations using the City Corporation's own funds, the stadium will be built on 0.3100 acres of land at a cost of Tk 8,906,241.42. The indoor stadium will create modern facilities for basketball and various other indoor sports
