The Gobindaganj Municipality of Gaibandha has announced an open budget of Tk 35 crore for the 2026-2027 financial year.

The budget was announced at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at 11 am on Tuesday.

The budget session was presided over by Municipality Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Syeda Yasmin Sultana.

In the proposed budget, the revenue has been estimated at Tk 7 crore 4 lakh 93 thousand. The development income has been estimated at Tk 28 crore 10 lakh. The total income has been estimated at Tk 35 crore 14 lakh 93 thousand.

And the revenue expenditure has been estimated at Tk 35 crore 14 lakh 73 thousand 860. The development expenditure has been estimated at Tk 7 crore 4 lakh 73 thousand 860. The total expenditure has been estimated at Tk 35 crore 14 lakh 73 thousand 860. A surplus of Tk 19,140 has been kept in the budget. This budget has given importance to the development of citizen services and infrastructure.

Present at the time were Upazila BNP convener Faruk Ahmed, Municipal Executive Engineer Faizur Rahman, Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Mozammel Haque, Upazila Family Planning and Health Officer Dr. Masuder Rahman Akand, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Abdus Samad, Municipal BNP President Rabiul Kabir Monu, General Secretary Abu Zafar Lelin, District Workers Welfare Federation President Nurannabi Pradhan, Upazila Jamaat Secretary Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Municipal Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal President Kakuli Chowdhury, Upazila Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Monir Hossain Sarkar, Upazila JASAS Convener Munnaf Chowdhury, officials from various departments, dignitaries and citizens of the municipality.
