There have been allegations of allocating funds to preferred individuals without tendering for the ADB 18 projects of Alamdanga Upazila Parishad.

There have been allegations of allocating funds to preferred individuals of the current Jamaat-e-Islami MP for 18 projects worth Tk 45.39 lakh under the Upazila Annual Development (ADB) project without inviting tenders and ignoring the Upazila local government policies.

Local BNP leaders and activists gathered in front of the Alamdanga Upazila Parishad (LGED) to protest this issue.

It is learned that Alamdanga Upazila Parishad received the last installment of ADB's allocation for the 2025-2026 financial year of 45 lakh 39 thousand taka. According to the Upazila Parishad policy, if more than 5 lakhs are allocated for technical projects, there is a provision to implement them by inviting tenders. But the Upazila administration has approved 18 projects by passing a resolution in the monthly meeting. On June 18, on the instructions of Chuadanga 1 constituency MP Ad Masud Parvez Russel, these 18 projects have been allocated in the name of a person of his choice.
Project approvals have been given to Nasima Enterprise, Shampa Builders, Sattar Enterprise, two each, and hotelier Hafizur Rahman, two projects have been approved.

Projects include educational materials, bicycle distribution, wheelchairs for the disabled, and minor road construction and paving.

The PIC project includes tree plantation programs, health equipment, installation of solar lights, etc.
Alamdanga Upazila Engineer Towhid Ahmed said that on June 7 and 14, letters were sent to the Upazila Executive Officer inviting tenders for 18 projects. However, instead of inviting tenders, a resolution was passed at the monthly meeting and approval was given.

IAlamdanga UNO Shahinur Akhter said that if the project work is not implemented, the allocation will be canceled.

This issue has created a strong reaction among the people of every village in Alamdanga Upazila. It has sparked discussions among every person in the city.
