Two separate workshops on Software Requirements Specification (SRS) formulation and Software Analysis & Design for the Knowledge Management System (KMS) of LGED-CReLIC were held at the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) headquarters in the capital recently.

Organized by the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Centre (CReLIC) under the LGED-implemented Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming Project (CRIMP), the sessions aimed to gather stakeholder feedback to make the digital platform highly effective and sustainable.

Speaking as the chief guest at the seminar hall, LGED Chief Engineer Md. Belal Hossain emphasized that the planned and strategic utilization of accurate data and knowledge is indispensable for building a modern Bangladesh and mitigating climate change risks.

The workshops were chaired by Md. Azharul Islam, Additional Chief Engineer of LGED and Director of CReLIC. In his address, he highlighted that proper analysis and precise design form the cornerstone of any sustainable software system. He expressed optimism that finalizing the SRS and software design through these collaborative sessions would help develop a robust, user-friendly database, which will significantly enhance LGED’s institutional capacity and contribute to achieving long-term sustainable development goals.

During the technical segments of the program, expert consultants from the contracted development firm, ADDIE Soft Ltd.—including Software Developer Md. Shahnewaz Russell, AGM Md. Shariful Islam, and Project Manager Md. Niamat Ullah—presented detailed future workflows, architectural designs, and specification frameworks for the upcoming KMS database.

The workshops were also attended by LGED Additional Chief Engineers Syeda Asma Khatun, Kazi Saiful Kabir, and Md. Wahiduzzaman, along with CRIMP-CReLIC Project Director Md. Abdul Khalek, SDIRIIP Project Director Md. Latif Hossain, CReLIC Executive Engineer Fatema Ismat Ara, Assistant Engineer Arpon Paul, and various senior project directors, executive engineers, and specialist consultants.
