A human chain program was held in Nilphamari Jaldhaka to protest against the pre-planned attempt to kill a person by stabbing him in the stomach in broad daylight and the sudden attack on his family members, demanding exemplary punishment for the attackers.

The human chain program was organized by the people of all walks of life in Taluk Golna Rathbazar on Thursday afternoon on the road adjacent to Rathbazar Government Primary School.

The human chain program was held under the chairmanship of injured Nur Jamal's grandfather Zahar Uddin, and was addressed by the injured Nur Jamal's father Shafiqul Islam, grandmother Sarjina Begum, Nayan Islam, Rabbani Islam, Shajahan Ali Maleka Begum and others.

In his speech, injured Nur Jamal's father Shafiqul Islam cried and complained, "By creating a dispute over planted trees and goats, Habibur Rahman, the terrorist son of local resident Hafizul Islam, stabbed my son Nur Jamal in the stomach with a sharp knife in broad daylight in a premeditated manner and attacked my family members indiscriminately." When my son Nur Jamal was taken to Jaldhaka Health Complex in a bloody and seriously injured state after being stabbed by terrorist Habibur Rahman, the doctor on duty quickly referred him to Rangpur. Although my son survived the stabbing, we, the family, are living in uncertainty due to the repeated attacks and threats of the terrorists. When a case was filed with the police station naming 6 named accused in this attempted murder and attack on the house, the police arrested the main accused Habibur Rahman. But the remaining accused are roaming around in public and threatening us in various ways.

The injured's grandfather, Zahar Uddin, said, such a heinous murder has created extreme unrest in our village. We, the family, strongly demand that the law take necessary action against the guilty parties subject to a fair investigation of this incident. We are skeptical about the mysterious reason why the accused are still threatening us in our own homes and areas. Sarjina Begum said, "We want justice from the law in this planned murder attempt." Local residents Nayan, Rabbani and Shajahan said, "This incident has created a huge sensation in the area. We are demanding exemplary punishment for the guilty person subject to investigation." The locals participating in the human chain raised various slogans demanding the hanging of the stabbed person, Habibur Rahman.
