Islami Andolan names Maulana Fazlur Rahman as Gazipur City polls mayoral candidate

GAZIPUR, July 5 — Islami Andolan Bangladesh has officially announced Maulana Fazlur Rahman as its mayoral candidate for the upcoming Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) elections.
On behalf of the party's Ameer and Peer of Charmonai, Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Joint Secretary General Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman made the formal announcement. The decision was disclosed in a press release issued by the central publicity department of Islami Andolan Bangladesh on Saturday.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman is the newly elected President of the Gazipur Metropolitan unit of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and a prominent member of the party's central Majlis-e-Shura.
Beyond his political role, Maulana Fazlur Rahman is a well-known Islamic scholar in the region. He currently serves as the General Secretary of the Gazipur district unit of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh. Additionally, he holds the positions of Muhtamim (Principal) and Shaykhul Hadith at the Jamia Khaledia Darul Uloom Madrasa.
