A protest rally and public gathering were held in Gaibandha on Saturday noon under the banner of the 11-Party Alliance, demanding the implementation of the referendum verdict and the July Charter.
Leaders and activists assembled at the Shaheed Minar premises of Gaibandha Municipal Park before taking part in the procession.

A large number of leaders and supporters from the 11-Party Alliance, including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, participated in the rally.

The chief guest at the gathering was Dr. Abdur Rahim Sarkar, former Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Gaibandha district.
The pre-procession rally at the Municipal Shaheed Minar was presided over by Jamaat-e-Islami District Ameer and MP Md. Abdul Karim Sarkar and moderated by Acting District Secretary Syed Rokonuzzaman.
Among those who addressed the gathering were MP Professor Abdul Majed, Freedom Fighter Abdul Warech MP, Principal Maulana Nazrul Islam Lebu MP, District Jamaat Assistant Secretary Faisal Kabir Rana, Gaibandha Municipal Jamaat Ameer Professor Ferdous Alam, District Islami Chhatra Shibir President Yusuf Al Qaravi, Liberal Democratic Party leader M. Shariful Islam, former District Chhatra Shibir President Ferdous Islam Rumman, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis District Mufti Idris Ali, NCP District Convener Khademul Islam, Amar Bangladesh Party leader Khairul Alam, JAGPA District President Zahidul Islam, Khelafat Majlis Bangladesh leader Mehedi Hasan, Nurul Islam Mondol, Shahidul Islam Manju, Abu Bakar Siddique, Maulana Shafiul Islam and others.

The speakers alleged that the BNP government wants to govern the country in a manner similar to a fascist regime and declared that no new fascist government would be allowed to emerge in the country.
