Jahurul Haque Hall Sufia Kamal Hall champions in DU’s 8th Inter-Hall Karate Competition

In the 8th Inter-Hall Karate Competition of the University of Dhaka, Shahid Sergeant Jahurul Haque Hall emerged as champion in the male students’ group, while Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall became the runner-up. In the female students’ group, Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall clinched the championship title, and Rokeya Hall became the runner-up recently.
This day-long competition was held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the university’s gymnasium.
Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of the University of Dhaka and President of the Sports Board, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.
The prize-giving ceremony was presided over by Prof Dr. Upama Kabir, President of the DU Judo and Karate Committee. Also speaking at the event were Prof Dr. S. M. Mostafa Al Mamun, Advisor to the Physical Education Centre, and Acting Director S. M. Zakaria. Hall provosts, residential teachers, and students from various halls were present on the occasion.
In the competition, Shahid Sergeant Jahurul Haque Hall won 2 gold and 1 bronze medals, earning a total of 11 points to secure the championship. Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall became runner-up with 2 gold medals, scoring 10 points. Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall won 3 gold and 1 bronze medals, accumulating 16 points to win the championship in the women's group. Rokeya Hall claimed the runner-up position with 1 gold and 1 silver medal, totaling 8 points.
