JUCSU polls : JU asks post-grad examinees to leave halls

Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have directed students who have already completed their postgraduate examinations to refrain from staying in residential halls ahead of JUCSU polls.
The matter was confirmed in a press release signed by JU’s acting director of Public Relations Office, Mohammad Mahiuddin, issued on Friday afternoon.
As per the press release, students who have finished their examinations must vacate the dormitories from August 29 to September 15.
“The university authorities seek cooperation from all concerned to hold the JUCSU and hall union elections in a peaceful and disciplined manner,” the press release read.
The measure has been taken as a bid to ensure a smooth and fair election of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) and hall unions scheduled to be held on September 11.
