
Locally-made firearm, two live cartridges seized in Karnaphuli

Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized one locally-made firearm and two rounds of live cartridges in Karnaphuli, Chattogram on Thursday.
In a press release issued on Thursday noon, Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque informed this.
According to the release, a special operation was conducted at 4:00 AM on Thursday by Coast Guard Base Chattogram in the area adjacent to Dangarchar under Karnaphuli Police Station. During the raid, a search was carried out at a robbers’ hideout, resulting in the recovery of one locally-made firearm and two live cartridges. However, sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, the robbers managed to flee, and no arrests were made.
The seized firearm and cartridges are currently under process for necessary legal action.
The Bangladesh Coast Guard stated that such operations will continue in the future to help maintain stability in the country’s law and order situation.
