Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam has organized a protest rally and mass procession in Melandha, Jamalpur, demanding the cancellation of the agreement to establish a UN human rights office in Bangladesh.
On Friday after Asr, the procession left Melandha Big Mosque Gate and circled Melandha Bazar. Then, the protest rally at the mosque gate was addressed by Mufti Shamsuddin, General Secretary of District Jamiat, Mufti Rahmatullah Al Hossaini, Organizing Secretary of Melandha Jamiat, Mufti Solaiman Hossain, and Secretary of Melandha Municipal Jamiat, Mao. Abdul Wahab, among others.
The speakers strongly opposed the establishment of the UN's farcical human rights office in Bangladesh.
At the same time, they highlighted the humanitarian catastrophe and human rights violations that have occurred in various countries despite the existence of this human rights office. They strongly opposed the mission to implement that blueprint in Bangladesh.
