Md. Mafiz Uddin Sarker, Rangpur

 Maulana Abdul Halim, Central Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Regional Director for the Rangpur-Dinajpur region, has issued an earnest appeal to everyone to make the massive long march—involving hundreds of thousands of people and organized by an 11-party alliance including Jamaat to demand the implementation of a 6-point charter—a success on September 19. 

He made this call while speaking as the chief guest at a preparatory meeting held last Wednesday night at the Rangpur Metropolitan office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, attended by various levels of leaders from the Rangpur district and metropolitan units.

Presided over by Vice-Principal Maulana ATM Azam Khan Central Working Committee Member and Rangpur Metropolitan Amir, the meeting was attended by several key figures, including Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin ,Central Working Committee Member and Assistant Regional Director for Rangpur-Dinajpur,  Md.  Abdus Sattar Shah Central President of the Forum of Diploma Engineers – FDEB, KM Anwarul Haque Kajol ,Rangpur Metropolitan Secretary,  Maulana Enamul Haque ,Rangpur District Secretary,  Professor Abul Hashem Badal, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Land Port Workers Union and Assistant Regional Director of the Bangladesh Sramik Kallyan Federation for Rangpur-Dinajpur,  Al -Amin Hasan ,Assistant Secretary of Metropolitan Jamaat,  Advocate Kawsar Ali, Metropolitan President of Sramik Kallyan Federation and Secretary of Jamaat’s Publicity and Media Division, and Professor Abu Sajid ,Metropolitan Jamaat Working Committee Member and Professional Thana Amir, among others.

Maulana Halim said, the massive long march, advocating for the 11-party alliance's 6-point demands, will commence its journey from Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka at 7:00 AM on that day. The procession will travel through Gazipur, Tangail, Sirajganj, Bogura, and Gaibandha, culminating in a grand public rally at the Rangpur Zilla School grounds in the evening. Separate roadside rallies will also be held at key locations in these districts along the route. Leaders from the 11-party alliance—including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Freedom Fighter Colonel Oli Ahmed, Maulana Mominul Haque, and Nahid Islam MP will address.

He also said,  public life across the country has become unbearable due to acute shortages of fertilizer, gas, electricity, and fuel—consequences of the government's politicization and nurturing of fascism over the past six months. Amidst this, people are gripped by panic due to a drastic deterioration in law and order, characterized by murders, rapes, muggings, thefts, robberies, land grabbing, and extortion. As part of the movement and at the call of the 11-party alliance, a massive long-march involving hundreds of thousands of people will take place from Dhaka to Rangpur on September 19.
