The government has adopted a national programme to celebrate Eid-e -Miladunnabi with due dignity and religious solemnity on August 26.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was celebrated on August 13. The program was finalized at an inter-ministerial meeting on the subject. The meeting, chaired by Religious Affairs Secretary Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, was attended by Islamic Foundation Director General Mufti Muhammad Muhibbullahil Baki , Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr. Md. Ayatul Islam , Additional Secretary (Admin) Md. Imtiaz Hossain, and representatives of various ministries , departments and organizations.

The President and the Prime Minister will deliver separate messages on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH). On this day , the national flag will be hoisted in all government , semi-government , autonomous institutions , private buildings and all establishments of the armed forces. In addition , important traffic islands , light posts , places and roads of Dhaka metropolis will be decorated with national flags , colorful flags and banners written with 'Kalima Tayyiba' and special supplements will be published in newspapers.

Bangladesh Secretariat Mosque will organize discussion meetings and prayer mahfils in all mosques of the country, including mosques, and all divisions , district and upazila administrations , city corporations , municipalities, and the Armed Forces Division within their own jurisdictions.

In addition to promoting Wajh Mahfil , seminars and talk shows on electronic media , the Islamic Foundation will organize cultural competitions for students including Qirat , Hamd-Naat , recitation of composed poems and a Khutba writing competition in Arabic. In addition , the organization will publish souvenirs or supplements and organize a month-long Islamic book fair at the southern end of Baitul Mukarram Mosque.

All educational institutions of the country including universities , district Shilpakala Academy , Shishu Academy and other cultural institutions , Islamic Foundation , Waqf Administrator's Office , Dhaka and Jeddah Hajj Offices and all religious institutions have been instructed to organize discussion meetings , prayer meetings , Hamd -Naat , composed poetry readings , cultural competitions and quiz competitions on the life and work of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) , peace , progress , harmony , tolerance , world brotherhood , human rights and dignity of women . Bangladesh Shishu Academy will organize various programs for children including Hamd-Naat , discussion meetings and essay competitions.

On the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH), all military and civilian hospitals , prisons , government children's homes , children's homes , residential child development centers and senior citizens' homes in the country will take measures to serve high-quality food.
