Sylhet City Corporation Administrator and Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi said that the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters (FFs) in the fight for the liberation of the country and the people are unique in history.

So that the new generation does not have to shed blood on the streets anymore, the country should be inspired by the ideals of these best sons of the nation and build the country.

He said these at the reception and discussion meeting of the brave freedom fighters organized by the City Corporation in Sylhet on Monday to celebrate the great Victory Day 2024 at the Sharda Smriti Bhaban in the city.

At the reception of the heroic freedom fighters, the City Corporation Administrator said that the freedom fighters came forward for the liberation of the people at the critical moment of the nation. That is why these warriors occupy the highest position among the freedom-loving people in this time of crisis, they are the best children of the nation.

Seeking forgiveness for the departed souls of all the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi said, there is a long way to go to make the incomplete journey of the liberation struggle successful. We still have to agitate for change and elimination of discrimination.

The young generation has to shed blood on the streets. Everyone wants this process to end. He expressed hope that those responsible will work with the new generation to ensure that blood is not shed on the streets by agitating. Expressing respect and gratitude to the brave freedom fighters, Khan Md. Reza-un-Nabi also said, if we can unite everyone and work together motivated by patriotism, the aspirations of the best children of the nation will definitely be fulfilled.
