One killed in truck crash at Kalamakanda

A 9-year-old boy, Abdullah, was killed after being hit by a truck while visiting his grandparents' house in Netrakona's Kalmakanda.
The incident took place at around 8:30 am on May 3 at at Hirakanda in Pogla Union on the Kalmakanda-Netrokona road.
The deceased Abdullah is the son of Ahmed of Anantapur village in Madhyanagar upazila of Sunamganj district. According to local residents and police sources, Abdullah had come with his mother to visit his maternal grandfather's house, Dulal Mia's house in Hirakanda village in Pogla Union of Kalmakanda upazila of Netrakona district. In the morning, Abdullah woke up and was crossing the road outside his house when a speeding truck hit him, killing him on the spot. The people around saw the incident and arrested the killer truck and its driver Mahmudul (25). When contacted,
OC of Kalmakanda Police Station Md. Firoz Hossain confirmed the incident and said that further legal action will be taken if a written complaint is received from the family of the deceased.
