A meeting with journalists was held at the Pakshi Railway District Police Line at the initiative of the Police Superintendent's office on Saturday morning.

Pakshi Railway District Police Superintendent Md. Mehedi Hasan spoke at the event.

Present at the event were Ishwardi Upazila Press Club President and Organizing Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the National Journalists Society Touhid Akhter Panna, senior journalist S. M. Raja, journalists Mahbubul Haque, Ahidul Islam, Shishir, Mahmud and other journalists.

In the meeting, Police Superintendent Md. Mehedi Hasan highlighted the success of various campaigns of the Railway Police in the past year. He said that various types of narcotics including Yaba, heroin and Phensedyl were recovered, the accused in drug cases were arrested and the total number of cases was reported.

According to the information , a total of 89 people were arrested, 12 GDs were filed against drug dealers, and the recovered drugs included 41 kg of marijuana, 4 kg 600 grams of heroin, 528 pieces of Yaba, 1,126 narcotic injections (ampoules), 402 Tapentadol tablets, 640 bottles of Escoff syrup containing codeine, 150 bottles of Phensedyl, 13 bottles of domestic liquor, 30 bottles of Codeine Phosphate Choco and 30 bottles of MK Dry with codeine. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is Tk 3,74,47,800.

Superintendent of Police said, the manpower of the Railway Police is very low. There is an urgent need to increase the number of police personnel and increase the number of police stations and outposts to maintain law and order and further strengthen the anti-drug campaign.
