In separate operations by Rajshahi Metropolitan’s Karnahar police station and DB police, 750 grams of cannabis and 20 liters of locally brewed liquor were recovered and two individuals were arrested by Karnahar and DB police on Monday. 

The accused arrested by RMP Karnahar police station is Md. Hasibur Rahman (25), son of Md. Aminul Islam of Karamja Modhyopara, Karnahar police station, Rajshahi Metropolitan. The accused arrested by DB police is Tilu Biswas (61), wife of deceased Deben Murari of Miyapur Sutahat area, Kasiadanga police station.

According to the incident report, on May 10, 2025, at around 9:45 PM, under the overall supervision of Deputy Police Commissioner Din Mohammad of RMP's Kasiadanga Crime Division, Karnahar police station’s SI Md. Abdul Matin and his team were on special duty for drug recovery, warrant execution, and special operations in the metropolitan area. At that time, based on secret information, they learned that cannabis was being sold in a house in Karamja Modhyopara village under Karnahar police station.

Based on that information, the police team conducted an operation at 10 PM at the said house in Karamja Modhyopara village and arrested the accused Hasibur. During this time, 750 grams of cannabis were recovered from him.

On the other hand, on May 11, 2025, at 8:15 PM, based on secret information, the Metropolitan Detective Police’s SI Zakir Hossain and his team conducted an operation and arrested the accused Tilu from the Hargoram Colony area of Kasiadanga police station along with 20 liters of locally brewed liquor.

Cases have been filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the arrested accused at Karnahar and Kasiadanga police stations and they have been sent to jail through the honorable court.
