 Workers of Style Craft Limited and Young Ones BD factories in Gazipur have protested demanding payment of dues. Five female workers were injured when they were attacked by people from the owner's side while protesting in front of the factory. The protest program began in front of the Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GAMP) office at 8 am on Sunday. 

 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Gazipur Industrial Police Wahiduzzaman said that the workers of the two garment factories protested demanding their 14-month arrears of salary.

 The protesting workers said that the factory authorities had paid some workers Tk 20,000 each during the last Ramadan Eid. At that time, it had announced that all the arrears would be paid on May 7. After waiting for three days for the arrears, we went to the factory and started the protest on Sunday morning. Five female colleagues were injured in the attack by the owners.

 Mahfuz Mia, treasurer of the Bangladesh Garment and Sweater Workers Trade Union Gazipur district branch, said that 1,800 workers worked in the Style Craft Limited and Young Ones BD factories. The workers are owed 14 months' worth of money. For a long time, the owners have not paid the workers' dues, misused their power in various ways and intentionally filed false cases against the workers.

 Kazi Ruhul Amin, general secretary of the Bangladesh Garment and Sweater Workers Trade Union Gazipur district branch, said that the workers are being forced to protest and agitate for their fair dues due to the non-payment of the workers' dues. He strongly demanded that the outstanding Style Craft and all workers and employees be paid their dues in order to keep the workers alive and maintain a fair environment in the industry.
