Sarjis Alam in Dimla : Vote for good prople, not for party symbols

Mohinul Islam Sujan, Dimla (Nilphamari)

Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) North Region, said that voters should choose good people, not just party symbols. He said the NCP was formed under the leadership of those who led the student and public uprising in 2024.

He believes that considering the current political context and times, Bangladesh needs multiple strong political parties. Because when there are multiple strong political parties in Bangladesh, competition to perform well among them will begin. For a long time, when there have been only one or two strong political parties, the people have limited options—if one party does not satisfy them once, they turn to the other, cycling between just two parties. Bangladesh must move beyond this situation.

He made these remarks while distributing leaflets at a roadside meeting at Bijoy Chattar Mor, the Dimla Upazila town center, on Monday  afternoon. At the event, NCP Joint Convenor Sarwar Tushar, Joint Chief Organizer Asadullah Al Galib, and Joint Chief Organizer Ali Naser Khan also spoke. Earlier, they participated in a roadside meeting at Dangarhat market in Balapara Union of the same upazila.

Addressing the people of Dimla, he said, “We see the terrible condition of the roads in important towns like Dimla. You were supposed to be flooded with development in the past 16 years, but why are your roads in this state? We will meet you on the streets—either in struggle or in victory. Until then, the people of Dimla should stay with the good people and condemn the bad ones.”
