On-duty Air Force and Bangladesh Ansar personnel successfully restored order and maintained airport security following an altercation triggered by an unauthorized entry attempt at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital early Monday.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 AM on September 21, 2026, in the Canopy-02 area during the C-shift duty. According to airport security, a relative of an arriving passenger attempted to forcefully cross through the arrival gate into the restricted airport interior, disregarding security protocols. On-duty Air Force and Ansar members intervened to block the breach.

Security officials reported that after being stopped, the individual attempted to bypass the guards and fell to the floor. Following this, several accompanying individuals began filming the scene on mobile phones. When Air Force personnel requested that video recording be halted due to security regulations, the crowd grew agitated and engaged in a verbal confrontation with the security staff.

The situation escalated as a group of passengers' relatives gathered and attempted to assault the on-duty Ansar members. Air Force and Ansar personnel responded in self-defense and coordinated to defuse the tension, eventually dispersing the crowd and restoring order within the terminal zone.

Three Ansar personnel—PC Habibur Rahman, Ansar Md. Nuruzzaman, and Ansar Md. Sadekul—sustained minor injuries and suffered torn uniforms during the commotion. Officials confirmed that despite their injuries, the personnel remained on duty to ensure uninterrupted passenger safety and public order at the sensitive facility.
