Sewing machines distributed among destitute in Gopalganj Sadar

Sewing machines and materials have been distributed among 48 helpless and destitute women in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila on Saturday.
These materials were distributed at an event held at the Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium.
Under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) of the 2024–25 fiscal year, these sewing machines were distributed. The chief guest at the distribution event was the Deputy Commissioner of Gopalganj, Muhammad Kamruzzaman (Joint Secretary).
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Golam Kabir, Upazila Nirbahi Officer M. Rakibul Hasan, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs Laksana Laki, and Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Arif Jamil Faruqi, along with officials from various departments were also present.
UNO M. Rakibul Hasan informed that a total of 48 sewing machines have been distributed after screening the applicants from 21 unions of the Sadar Upazila. He mentioned that this initiative will also contribute to women's empowerment by creating self-employment opportunities.
