Show-cause to 72 students of HUST for ragging

The university administration has issued show-cause to 72 students of the 25th and 26th batches of Dinajpur Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology (HUST).
This information was given in a press release sent by Md. Khademul Islam, Director of the Public Relations Department of Habiprob.
In a press release, he said that the administration was forced to take such strict action against 72 students from those two batches on specific allegations of being involved in ragging by intimidating and creating panic among newly admitted students of various departments in the university's honors program.
The university's disciplinary committee and the university administration have taken a strict stance against ragging. The administration has taken such initiatives with a strong hand to permanently eradicate the bad culture of ragging from the university premises.
Among the students who received show cause notices, there are 26 students from the 26th batch of the Veterinary Faculty, 13 from the 25th batch, 21 from the 26th batch of the EEE Department, 10 from the 25th batch, and 1 each from the 25th and 26th batches of the Agriculture Faculty.
Sources said that in the past few days, the university's proctoral team immediately arrived at the scene after receiving reports of ragging with new students in BCS alley next to the campus, Karnai village adjacent to the university, near the university pond, and in the residential mess.
