Skill Enhancement Refresher Training by Youth Forum at Betagi Upazila Freedom Fighters Complex Hall

A two-day skill enhancement refresher training program focused on building a sensitive and non-communal society through youth leadership and social media engagement was successfully completed in Betagi, Barguna. Organized by the non-governmental development organization Rupantar under the Astha Project, the training took place at the Betagi Upazila Freedom Fighters Complex Hall, starting on Monday at 10 a.m. and concluding on Tuesday (May 20) at 3 p.m.

The event was attended by Saidul Islam Montu, a member of the Barguna District Citizens’ Platform, as a guest. The training was facilitated by District Coordinator Md. Khalilur Rahman, Field Officers Kohinur Begum, and Abida Sultana.

Speakers emphasized the importance of increasing youth involvement in preventing communal violence to foster a sensitive society. They provided guidance on developing collaborative strategies to enhance youth participation in combating communal tensions.

The training saw participation from 30 youth members of the Youth Forum from marginalized communities across one municipality and seven unions in the upazila. Sumaiya Akter and Kajol Akter, members from Sarishamuri Union, expressed that the refresher training was highly beneficial. Md. Naim from Kazirabad Union and Md. Rajib from Buramajumdar Union stated that the knowledge gained would help them contribute to building a vibrant, sensitive, and non-communal society in their areas.
