A mini symposium titled “From Research to Startup: Creating Innovation Ecosystems in the University” was held at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). The event took place on Thursday (August 14) at 10:00 AM at the university’s mini auditorium, organized by the SUST Research Center.

 

SUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. M. Sarwaruddin Chowdhury attended the symposium virtually as the chief guest. In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor said, “As a science and technology university, SUST is playing a leading role in various fields. In the future, SUST will emerge as a model for excellence in education and research. Today’s program is very important for researchers. I hope the participants will benefit from this symposium.”

 

Special guests at the event included Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shajedul Karim and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain. The discussants were Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rahman, Head of the Department of Cyber Security and Forensic Computing at Prince Mugrin University, Saudi Arabia; Distinguished Professor Dr. Mostafizur Rahman from SUST’s Department of Industrial and Production Engineering; and Professor Dr. Pavel Shahriar from SUST’s Department of Mathematics.

 

The symposium was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Director of the SUST Research Center, and moderated by Professor Dr. Wahiduzzaman from the Department of Food Engineering and Tea Technology.
