Tree planting in the rain: the role of planting trees in preventing climate change

Dr. Mohammed Mahtab Hossain Mazed

Every year the monsoon comes to make life alive in the touch of rain. This season gives a message of new possibilities not only to nature but also to human society. Because the monsoon season is the most suitable time for planting trees. When the soil is moist, the chances of planting and growing new trees increase manifold. The importance of planting trees has increased manifold in the context of climate change, environmental pollution, temperature rise in the present world. Especially in the rainy season, this initiative gives effective results and returns the balance of nature in the long run.

> Environmental importance of planting trees

The lungs of the tree nature. They provide oxygen to the air, absorb carbon dioxide and prevent dust. One hectare of the forest absorbs about 2.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year. It reduces air pollution and good health of people. Plants prevent earthquakes, retain underground water and help reduce the effects of drought and floods. As a result, it is easy to grow and survive the tree.

> The importance of planting trees

Global warming and climate change have endangered our lives in the past few decades. During the rainy season, planting helps to deal with this change. Millions of trees are being cut every year for urbanization, agriculture expansion and wood. Planting is the only way to prevent this irreparable damage.

According to experts, an adult tree is capable of absorbing about 1 ton of carbon dioxide a year. So if we plant trees in the rainy season, we can leave a tolerant world for future generations.

* Environmental balance:-The tree absorbs carbon dioxide and keeps the environment clean by providing oxygen.

* Earthen health: The roots of the tree hold the soil, which prevents the land erosion and increases the fertility of the soil.

* Climate Change:-The plant absorbs carbon dioxide, which is helpful to reduce greenhouse gas and cope with climate change* Biodiversity:-Different types of plants provide different types of animals and insect habitats, which support biodiversity.

*Economic Importance:-Falls provide wood, fruits, herbs and other valuable resources, which are economically important.

* Beauty:-The plants make the environment around us more beautiful.

* Health:-Falls improve our mental and physical health.

> Tree planting and monsoon in the context of Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a riverine country where the monsoon season is very important. From June to September, the average rainfall during the monsoon is more than 5%. During this time the soil is soft and moist, which is ideal for planting trees. The government and various non -governmental organizations adopt tree planting programs every year.

Education, social organizations, farmers, volunteers and expatriates gathered and planted trees all over the villages and cities. Tree planting activities are spread through fairs and propaganda in various places.

> Which tree planting is suitable in the rain?

Notable among the trees that survive and grow fast in the rain:

* Fruit tree: mango, jackfruit, litchi, guava, jamrul, coconut

* Forest Tree: mahogany, shawl, gamari, ekasia, eucalyptus

* Herbs: Neem, Arjun, Bahira, Haritaki, Tulsi

* Decorative tree: Krishnachaura, Radhachura, Konkchaura

Planting these plants can be profitable not only the environment but also economically.

> Social and Economic Benefits

Tree planting is not only to protect the environment, but it can make people economically strong. If a farmer plants fruit and forest trees in the right plan on his land, it can start earning from it within a few years. It is possible to bring stability to the rural economy by cultivating various fruit trees including coconut, betel nut, mango, jackfruit.

In addition, forest trees make significant contributions to the economy by used in wood, fuel and housing.

> Tree planting and role of students in educational institutions

Tree planting programs in schools, colleges, universities are very effective during the monsoon season to raise environmental awareness among the students. If students are associated with planting and care from an early age, they will be accustomed to environmentally friendly life in the future.

By allocating a certain portion of the educational institution, the students will take care of the tree as a child if they create the opportunity to plant trees in their own name. This will develop their emotional development and love for nature.

> Women's contribution to tree planting

As women play an important role in the formation of houses and society, their participation in the protection of the environment is also noticeable. In the village, women help the family economically and healthy by planting trees such as kachu, lau, patilibu, basil, neem, etc.

Government and non -governmental organizations can engage in this work through training and distribution of trees. The involvement of women will make the tree planting movement successful.

> Tree

Tree planting has been considered as a virtuous act in all religions, including Islam, Hindu, Buddhist and Christianity. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "If the Day of Resurrection is the Day of Resurrection and you have a plant in your hand, then put it."

Through this hadith, tree planting is not only environmental but also moral and spiritual responsibility.

> Challenges and remedies

Challenge

* Lack of awareness * Waterlogging or excessive saplings in rains * Lack of regular care * Urbanization and land crisis

Remedy

* Active participation in local communities * Sustainable Planning and Monitoring * Make Environmental Education Mandatory at School level * Government/Private Intended Initiatives

> Tree planting is to make successful

* Determined the planned zone: Determine where a tree is planted, set the specific goal.

* Distribution and training of seedlings: Teaching people to distribute saplings and care tree care.

* Care system: Not just fitted, regular water, weed cleaning and protection measures.

* Community Partnership: Long -term tree planting activities with local people, administration and environmental organizations.

* In the planting of fruit trees, the fruit should be divided with others after ripening, which will be considered as cashew.

Finally, planting trees is a social responsibility. The monsoon is not just the rain -messenger, but the beginning of a new life. If we can properly utilize this time by planting, our future will be more green, healthy and sustainableIf everyone plants one tree from their respective places, then it will collectively become a green revolution.
