Two-day Career Fest kicks off at DU

A two-day Career Fest organized by the Dhaka University Career Club began  Tuesday, at TSC of the university. Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan inaugurated the event as the chief guest at a ceremony held at the TSC auditorium.

The fest aims to enhance students’ skills and support their career development.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Ishtiaq Shahriar Olok, President of Dhaka University Career Club. Among the special guests were Kazi Golam Rabbani Maola, Moderator of the Club; Farzana Kader, Senior Vice President of Guardian Life Insurance; Farzana Bashar, Acting Director of TSC; Mahmudul Hasan Marzuk, former President of the Club; and Azhar Bhuiyan, former Vice President. The vote of thanks was delivered by Muntasir Bin Siddique, General Secretary of the Career Club.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said,  the university has been organizing such career fests regularly to support students in their career development. Through this initiative, the relationship between Dhaka University and various organizations is being further strengthened. He expressed hope that students will receive proper guidance and counseling from this fest, helping them to develop into skilled human resources.

The two-day Career Fest features participation from 25 national and international organizations. Job-seeking students can submit their resumes at the participating organizations’ booths. They will also have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews, interactive sessions, and establish networking and gain experience through direct engagement with representatives from top local and international companies and institutions.

Besides, six sessions will be held during the fest on topics including higher education abroad and career planning.
