Four roads, a new Union Parishad building, and a tree plantation program have been inaugurated in the Hasan Nagar area of Golakandail Union under Rupganj Upazila in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
Rupganj UNO Saiful Islam inaugurated the programs. Present at the event were Rupganj Police Station OC Tarikul Islam, Acting Chairman of Golakandail Union Parishad Nasir Mia, former chairman Haji Abdul Matin, Rupganj Upazila Engineer Akhtar Hossain, Assistant Engineer Shyamal, In-charge of Bhulta Police Outpost Mokhlesur Rahman, Golakandail UP members Jamal Hossain, Rafiqul Islam, Tapan Kumar, Bacchu Bhuiyan, Jubo Dal leader Afaz Uddin, among others.
UNO Saiful Islam said, in the Hasan Nagar and Amlabo areas of Golakandail Union, four rural roads, a new Union Parishad building costing 1 million taka, and a tree plantation initiative were inaugurated.
Thousands of people will benefit from the rural roads constructed in Hasan Nagar, Amlabo, and Kali areas at a cost of around 5 million taka. A new building has been constructed for the Union Parishad as the old one was outdated and risky.
Earlier, saplings were planted in the Union Parishad premises as part of the tree plantation program. In the afternoon, UNO Saiful Islam visited various areas of Golakandail Union to inspect the waterlogging problems faced by residents.
During the visit, a decision was made to distribute food supplies among people in distress.
