US Embassy delegation meets DU VC

A 6-member delegation led by Mr. Scott Hartman, Director of the Public Engagement Division of the Public Diplomacy Section of the US Embassy in Dhaka, met with the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam, at his office on Sunday.
The other members of the delegation are - Mr. James A. Stewart, Raihana Sultana, Faroha Suhrawardy, Md. Iqbal Mahmud, and A. Q. M. Mushfiq Hasan from the same embassy.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, Dean of the Faculty of Law Professor Dr. Mohammad Ikramul Haque, and Director of the International Affairs Office Professor Dr. Syeda Rozana Rashid were present at the event.
During the meeting, they discussed organizing a program on September 17 at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of Dhaka University to celebrate the United States Constitution Day. The meeting also discussed organizing seminars and public lectures at Dhaka University with the participation of American experts.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam thanked the US Embassy in Dhaka for undertaking the restoration and conservation project of the Mughal-era Musa Khan Mosque at Dhaka University. He sought the cooperation of the US delegation in undertaking more projects to preserve the various heritage sites of Dhaka University.
