Victims' family holds press conference to protest false harassment case in Tongibari

The victims' family held a press conference to protest the false harassment case in Tongibari, Munshiganj at the victim's home in Belua village of the upazila on Monday afternoon.
At the press conference, the victims said that a ninth-grade student named Meem Akter of Rangmeher High School in Tongibari upazila was kidnapped by another student named Talha while he was going to school. On May 20, 2025, Talha and his associates forcibly grabbed him from in front of the school and kidnapped him in a CNG car.
When the victims' family went to file a case at the Tongibari police station, instead of filing a case, the victim's mother, Meem Akter, was detained at the police station. Later, the victim's father, Md. Safiuddin Bepari, filed a case in the learned court as the plaintiff. Case No. 2 (6) 25. After the case, the police rescued Talha and Mim from the house of a friend of Talha in Gazipur. Talha kidnapped Mim and even after the police rescued Mim from Talha, Talha's mother filed a false case in the name of Mim's father. Case No. 86/2025. Mim's father Shafiuddin is being held in jail due to that case.
They also said that even after detaining Mim's father with a false case, they have been threatening to kill us to withdraw the case. We are living in fear for our lives. We may be attacked at any time, in this situation we are seeking the cooperation of the administration.
Mim Akhter said, Talha liked me. He often bothered me. When I did not agree to Talha's words, he forcibly kidnapped me with CNG. Now they are harassing me by filing a false case in my father's name. My father is being held in jail. I want my father's release. I want justice for all these injustices done to us. Now they are threatening to withdraw our case again.
Meem's sister Hira Begum said, "My younger sister Meem was kidnapped by a boy named Talha while she was going to school. When we got the news and went to file a case at the police station, they did not file our case but instead detained my mother at the police station.
A day later, they released my mother from the police station. Later, my father went to court to file a case. The police themselves went and rescued my sister Meem. When my sister was called to court, my husband Parvez and my sister were sent to court.
After the statement, the police arrested my husband and took him to the police station. The next day, when my husband Parvez was sent to court, we released him on bail. In this situation, we are being threatened to withdraw our case. We seek the cooperation of the administration.
