Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam has called on everyone to work together to fulfill the dreams of the July warriors and said, "We want to get back a Bangladesh where there is no discrimination, people can speak freely and good governance is established everywhere." He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled 'July Uprising: Education and Future Bangladesh' organized by the Faculty of Biology at the Central Gallery of the Department of Botany on Sunday to mark the second anniversary of the historic July Uprising.

The seminar was chaired by the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Prof Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani was present as a special guest. The keynote address was presented by Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan, retired professor of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment and Chairman of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council. The welcome address was delivered by Prof Dr. AHM Zulfikar Ali, Chairman of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment. Associate Professor Syed Tanvir Rahman, Department of Psychology, student Marufa Akhter Koli, Department of Botany, student Arman, Department of Psychology, and Department of Soil, Water and Environment, student Md. Mahtab Islam participated in the discussion.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam called on everyone to learn from history and work for the welfare of humanity, saying, "History does not forgive anyone. History teaches that no one can remain in power by oppressing, torturing, and suppressing the people."

Amar Ekushey Hall: A discussion titled 'July Mass Uprising: Student People's Desire and Future Bangladesh' was held at Amar Ekushey Hall Auditorium on Saturday night, August 1, 2026. ‎The hall's principal, Professor Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin, presided over the event, and Jatiya Nagorik Party's chief organizer Sarjis Alam spoke as a special guest.

Jagannath Hall: A seminar on 'July Uprising 2024: Aspirations and Reality' was held at Kishorilal Roy Chowdhury Auditorium on Sunday evening, 02 August 2026. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam was present as the chief guest at the event.

Department of Physics: A seminar on 'July Revolution and Mass Uprising: Reminiscence and Discussion Meeting 2026' will be held tomorrow, August 3 at 2:30 PM in Room 300 of the Department of Physics, Mukarram Bhaban. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam will be the chief guest at the event and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Abdus Salam, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani and Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof Dr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain will be present as special guests. Emeritus Prof of the Department of Physics Dr. A. F. M. Yusuf Haider will be the main discussant. Chairman of the Department of Physics Professor Dr. Aminul Islam Talukder will preside over the meeting.

Department of Sociology: A Review of Sociology Students' will be held tomorrow, August 3 at 11 am in room 516 of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the initiative of the Department of Sociology. The program will be presided over by the Acting Chairperson of the Department of Sociology, Professor Dr. Fatema Regina Iqbal, with the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Kazi Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, as the chief guest and writer Firoz Ahmed as the discussant.

Department of Applied Mathematics: A discussion meeting and video documentary exhibition titled 'July Time Line 2024: Aspirations, Achievements and Expectations' will be held on August 4 at 11:00 am at the Rezaur Rahman Auditorium of AF Mujibur Rahman Mathematics Building. Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Abdus Salam will be the chief guest and Faculty of Science Dean Prof Dr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain will be the special guest. Chairman of the Department of Applied Mathematics Professor Dr. ABM Shahadat Hossain will preside over the meeting.
