Dr. Mohammed Mahtab Hossain Mazed

World Blood Donor Day 2025.The purpose of this day is to encourage the general public to donate blood, including those who voluntarily and free blood donating the lives of millions of peopleWorld Blood Donation Day was first celebrated in the 2000st with the experience of celebrating International Blood Donation Day and 'Safe Blood' in the 2004st.Every year since the World Health Session in the 2005st, the World Health Organization has also been urging the day to celebrate this dayAlready 182 countries have been involved in the movement. In Bangladesh is also observed very seriously. Blood donation and blood intake have been used for the human body for the time being. Blood donation is also a very virtuous or reward work. The number of blood donors is still negligible compared to the population in Bangladesh. Although there is a demand for blood of 8 to 9 lakh bags a year in the country, the blood is collected six to 6 lakh bags. In addition, only 30 percent of the collected blood comes from voluntary blood donors. If not a family member or acquaintance, most people still rely on the blood donor for blood. Every year many patients suffer from crisis due to lack of blood.

According to the World Health Organization statistics, 100 million people in the world give blood every year. However, voluntary blood donation rate in the developed world is 40 per thousand per thousand, but less than four in every one thousand in the developing world.

> Blood donation for whom

Blood donation voluntarily is a great act. This magnificent effort of the blood donors survives many life -threatening lives. It is a good fortune to donate blood to a young patient during the death of life and death. But anyone can donate blood if he wants. There are some special restrictions on medical care. Let's know who should not forget to avoid the complexity.

Age: People who may complicate after donation are discouraged in blood donation. Usually all healthy people can donate blood within 18-45years.

Low weight: It is mandatory for women to have 45 kg weight for women to give blood. However, it is possible to consider that if you weight below 50 kg, it is safe to refrain from donating someone.

Fever or cold-cough: Blood cannot be donated to fever, sore throat, cold, cough, stomach problems or any other infection. So if you are completely healthy, then donate blood.

Complex Diseases: Aids, such as AIDS, are infected with a complex disease, must refrain from donating blood. Blood can not be donated to heart disease, cancer, epilepsy, asthma, allergies, kidney disease. This is because the blood of the person suffering from these diseases increases the risk of the patient's life, as well as the possibility of getting infected with those complex diseases.

High or lower blood pressure: If you have high blood pressure or lower blood pressure, you should be discouraged in your blood donation. Experts say that those who have low blood pressure can become ill after donating blood.

Intestinal women: In medical care, blood donation is not allowed. This is because most women suffer from anemia or anemia during pregnancy. In this situation, donation of blood can increase the risk of their iron deficiency.

Person who has recently donated blood: According to experts, a person should usually give blood once in 2 months or 56days. This rule is very important for the health and safety of the blood donor. So if a person has blood once during this period, he is not allowed to donate blood a second time.

Tattoos: If you have recently tattooed in your body or in any part of the body (nose, ears, eyebrows, navel), you will not be able to donate blood for the next six months from that date.

Experts believe that blood cannot be donated but not six months after abortion. In addition, hepatitis B, blood should not be donated for six months after taking the rabies vaccine. However, blood can be donated two to three weeks after the vaccine of Covid.

In addition, alcohol should not be done in the 24 hours before donating blood. At the same time, if anyone has the habit of smoking, you should stay away from smoking two hours before donating blood. Otherwise, it may face physical complications after donating blood.

> Benefits of blood donation :-

Blood is donated to anyone else's needs. In order to give blood, the adult is 18 years old. Every three months, every healthy and adult men and women can donate blood freely and safely. It will not have any detrimental effect on health. Rather, blood donation increases the body's immunity. The following 8 benefits of donating blood are discussed.

1) Regular blood donors are less at risk of cancer.

2) Three times a year, the rate of new red blood cells increases in the body. The bone marrow is active. Fast blood deficiency is met.

3) Cholesterol levels in the blood are reduced, it controls blood pressure. As a result, the risk of heart and heart attack is greatly reduced.

4) The calorie consumption that blood is given, it plays an important role in weight loss and controlling blood pressure.

5) It is known whether there are major diseases like hepatitis-B, hepatitis-C, jaundice, malaria, syphilis, HIV or AIDS.

6) The immune system increases.

7) The balance of the body is correct.

8) It is possible to save a person's life.

> After blood donation and blood donation:

Before donating, each blood donor is asked some personal and important questions about his health. They have to answer the correct answer. The blood donor's physical temperature, blood pressure, pulse speed is examined and a little blood is taken to find out if the blood donor's blood is free. In addition, through this blood, the blood donor's blood is also examined whether any cohesion is compatible (crossmatching). After blood tests, AIDS, hepatitis -B, hepatitis -C, syphilis or any other organism is advised to take the appropriate action. It takes a maximum of 10 minutes. Before donating, you must be careful- enough air circulation. If you come to give blood from far away, you need to rest for a while. After donating blood, you must lie down at a minimum of 5 minutes. [It is urgent to make blood flow throughout the body]. Usually after donating blood, there is no need to consume extra expensive foods. However, after donating blood, you need to drink two times a week in addition to normal food. Because a blood donor donates blood [usually 5 pounds] is filled with about 60 percent of it in that period. Only red blood cells take 120 days or 4 months to fill. After donating blood, the date must be kept in mind that most blood donors do not feel any problem after donating blood. However, in some cases, the donor may feel the pain in the abdomen, dizziness, dizziness, needle reddish spots and pain at the entrance to the needle. In some cases, the donor may lose knowledge or catch a calamity in the muscle. However, in most cases these problems are fixed within 5 hours, no medicine is needed.

> History of blood donation :-

When the eighth pope stroke in 1892, doctors thought the Pope seems to be bleeding somewhere in the body. In order to save the Pope, three boys of the age of 10 were taken out of the body and drank the pope. Since there was anything called blood vessels, it was not known. So everyone thought it would enter the body by playing blood. The blood of the three children was taken in exchange for just one gold coin. Sadly, three babies die due to blood. But the pope survives. Everyone thought the pope survived for that blood. The next year, the Pope died of second stroke without any announcement. From then on, no one dared to give blood anymore. Let's see how blood donation has brought about a revolutionary change in the human world-

1616: English physician Dr. Through the research of William Harvey, people first find out that blood flows inside the human body.

1666: Dr. Richard Lower successfully conducted a blood circulation test from one dog's body to another for the first time.

1678: Pope's ban on blood circulation.

1818: Dr. James Blandel, an English nephew, discovered a device for blood circulation, which successfully rescued the blood from the body of a healthy man to another. He is the first to say that only the blood of one man can be given to another human body.

1901: Vienna Dr. Carl Landstener shows that there are mainly four groups of human blood- A, B, AB and O. for the first time people understood where their mistake was going for the last 1980 years. He discovered the RH Group again in the 5th, which we can understand positive-negative blood.

1916: For the first time, the successful stored blood is entered into another's body. From this idea, France launched the world's first blood bank in France, an American army officer and medical researcher Oswald Hope Robertson.

1921: The members of the British Red Cross at King's College Hospital in London donated blood simultaneously. The world's first voluntary blood donation is an example.

> Carl Landstainer (1868-1983)

Austrian descent scientists who discovered the original blood groups (A, B, O). He discovered this ground breaking on June 8, and proved for the first time that there was no harm in blood saving from the same group. It was then that his two associates Alfred von Decastello and Adriano Straululi AB identified the group.

> Ruben Otenberg (1882-1959)

The long history of blood storage took place in the 1907th. Ruben Otenberg, another prominent physician and scientist at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, first infected with Carl Landstain.

> Philip Levine (1900-1987)

Philip Levine, a scientist at the Rockefeller Medical Institute, invented RH antigen. If so, we call any blood group the same and if it does not have it, we call it a leader.

Finally, on World Blood Donor Day, we remember these 3 people whose contribution has saved the lives of countless peopleTo those people who are voluntarily and free blood donating, for these unknown heroes, the dedicated June 14is World Blood Donation Day. June 14 is another significance to celebrate the day. Carl Landstinar was born on that day. This Nobel laureate scientist discovered the blood group 'A, B, O'. So let's give blood to protect people from life -threatening diseases. I encourage others to donate blood. Give blood! Save a life! It is possible to save four lives, especially in one of the nine fields with blood blood. Because one bag can be divided into four parts by dividing the blood into four parts as its ingredient. The ingredients are: 'Red Blood Cell, Platelet, Plasma and Cryopicipit' one is required for one. Basically, the day is celebrated to evaluate and recognize the donations of those who voluntarily and freely donate blood to save lives, as well as encourage the common people to donate bloodAnd one of your bags can save four lives. Give blood! Save a life! And since there is no religious restrictions on the saving of life and public service, the program like 'World Blood Donation Day' 2025will undoubtedly play a fruitful role.
