Yasser calls for spreading Nazrul's spirit of equality

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury on Friday called for spreading the literature, music and spirit of equality of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam among the new generation.
"The literature and creative works of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam are major sources of inspiration for the Bengali nation's consciousness, humanity, equality and communal harmony. We have to spread these values among the new generation," he said.
The state minister made the remarks while addressing the closing and prize-giving ceremony of a cultural competition organised by the Nandail upazila administration in Mymensingh this evening as part of the Nazrul Year celebrations.
Students from different educational institutions participated in various cultural competitions, including recitation, Nazrul songs, patriotic songs and dance.
Later, Yasser handed over prizes and certificates to the winners of different competitions.
The winners expressed their joy and enthusiasm after receiving the prizes.
