Youth must play role in social change : DU VC Obaidul Islam

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam has called upon the young generation to play a role in the country's development and social change, inspired by moral and humane values.
He made this call as the chief guest at the inauguration of the final round of the UNDP-DUDS debate competition titled "Youth Voice for Social Protection" organized by the Dhaka University Debating Society at a hotel in the capital on Saturday.
Dhaka University Debating Society Moderator Prof Dr. SM Shamim Reza, Dhaka University Debating Society President Zubair Hossain Shahed and General Secretary Ragim Anjum were present at the inaugural ceremony.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam emphasized on the involvement of students in co-curricular activities like debates to develop them as complete human beings. He said that youth should play a leading role in ensuring social security and eradicating social ills.
