Natundhara Bangladesh -NDB Chairman Momin Mehedi said that “Yunus, Nurjahan, Nahid and their associates are killers of children.” According to him, they proved this by using students to come to power. He alleged that because of these “killers,” the nation is now directionless due to rising commodity prices, corruption, murder, rape, oppression, and mob violence. He added that people are now seeking principled leadership in order to survive.

He made these remarks at a press conference held on the afternoon of May 15 at Bijoy Auditorium, demanding solutions to the ongoing crisis, including attacks and violence. He further said:

“What more can I say about the BNP government? They are also working in favor of anti-Bangladesh forces. As a result, just like in the past, within only two months of the BNP government, there has been more crisis and political drama with a domesticated opposition party, while the people are suffering immensely. Due to the BNP government, the domesticated opposition parties, war criminals, and their allied 11-party coalition, the crisis in Bangladesh has intensified brutally. Not only has the fuel crisis worsened, but unemployment and business recession have also begun. At the same time, the economic condition has become fragile. In this situation, if they fail to take well-planned measures to stop mob violence and attacks, false cases, murders and rapes, and to solve the fuel crisis, then even appointing respectable and civil individuals as advisers or ministers will not save the Tarique Rahman government in the end.”

At the event, Presidium Member and freedom fighter Fazlul Haque, Senior Vice Chairman Shanta Farzana, Joint Secretary General Wazed Rana, and Joint Organizing Secretary Aravinda Debnath, among others, also spoke.

The leaders further stated that, although harsh, it is true that the BNP government is repeatedly failing to understand the pulse of the people. They claimed that Tarique Rahman is also unable to focus on the concerns of the country’s people due to various activities centered around July. However, they said, the expectation had been that the country would move forward and that everyone would live well.

In the statement, the leaders called upon the Prime Minister, advisers, ministers, and MPs to stop making overly polished political speeches and instead focus on solving the country’s crises and problems. They urged them to “talk less and engage in less political drama,” warning that otherwise the people would be compelled to take to the streets.
