
21st death anniversary of Abdul Majid Mia observed in Dimla

The 21st death anniversary of the eminent social worker Abdul Majid Mia was observed through a discussion meeting and prayer gathering, where the life and contributions of the late Abdul Majid Mia were remembered with great respect on Friday.
The special guest of the event was Mohammad Kamrul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Government of Bangladesh. During the ceremony, the second son of the late Abdul Majid Mia, former chairman Mohammad Aminur Rahman, delivered a speech. Besides, the late Abdul Majid Mia’s seven sons, two daughters, two sons-in-law, and hundreds of his followers were present at the occasion.
Abdul Majid Mia was an extraordinary social worker whose contributions remain etched in the hearts of the local community. He was the land donor and founding president of the Binna Kuri Government Primary School, the founder of Binna Kuri Etehadi Madrasa, and the founder and president of Jhuna Gachh Chapani Girls High School. He also donated 50% of land to establish an open graveyard.
Under his leadership, several key projects were established, including the Binna Kuri Jame Masjid and the long-term leadership of the S1 irrigation canal under the Water Development Board. He faithfully served as president of the canal for many years.
The enduring contributions of Abdul Majid Mia have had a profound impact on countless lives in the community, serving as a beacon of light for many. The attendees of today’s event prayed for his soul and paid tribute to his legacy, remembering his work and dedication to society.
