Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, Director General of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP), inspected the Purba Chandra Sri Sri Kali and Durga Temple in Gazipur on Saturday to oversee security arrangements for Sharadiya Durga Puja and review the activities of deployed personnel.
Speaking during the inspection, the Director General highlighted that over 212,000 Ansar and VDP personnel have been deployed nationwide to ensure security across puja mandaps. He noted that 104 striking teams are actively operating across the country to respond swiftly to any untoward situations. Furthermore, a technology-driven security management framework integrated with the "Sharadiya Suraksha App" enables real-time information sharing, situational assessment, and rapid field-level responses.
He emphasized the necessity of coordinated efforts among local administration, law enforcement agencies, puja celebration committees, and the public to maintain a peaceful and festive environment. He urged all stakeholders to remain vigilant against rumors, provocations, and attempts by vested groups to disrupt communal harmony, stressing that any unwanted situation must be handled with patience, awareness, and responsibility.
Highlighting the force's welfare and development initiatives, the Director General encouraged unemployed youth to participate in skill-based and income-generating training offered by Ansar-VDP.
