BGB steps up security in Bandarban to prevent rumors, communal provocation

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has intensified surveillance to counter rumors, disinformation, and communal provocation across Bandarban district, implementing special security measures to maintain overall law and order during festival celebrations.
Lieutenant Colonel Rubayat Jamil, Sector Commander of BGB Bandarban, announced the heightened security posture while inspecting various puja mandaps in the district town on Saturday afternoon.
Addressing reporters, the Sector Commander stated that BGB units are maintaining vigilant oversight regarding online and offline rumors, misinformation, and inciting content. He noted that necessary operational security measures have been strengthened to tackle any untoward situation and uphold peace across the hill district.
Urging citizens not to be misled by unverified claims, the BGB official stressed the importance of maintaining communal harmony and exercising responsible behavior by verifying information before sharing or circulating it.
The inspection was attended by the 38 BGB Bolipara Zone Commander alongside senior operational officers of the paramilitary force.
