
Attack on DU bus at Uttara : VC himself went to police station to file case

Several students were injured in an attack and vandalism on a bus carrying students of Dhaka University ( DU) in the capital's Uttara area.
Following the incident, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Niaz Ahmed Khan, went to Uttara West Police Station on Tuesday night to file a complaint.
Students said, earlier in the day, near the Uttara BNS Center, some teenagers in school uniforms along with others in plain clothes attacked the double-decker BRTC bus rented by Dhaka University. The attack occurred during a road blockade program protesting the death of an SSC candidate who was run over by a BRTC truck on Sunday.
Regarding the incident, ADC of Uttara Zone Police, Ahmad Ali told The Country Today , a bus of Dhaka University was attacked. Later around 8:30 PM, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor ( VC) Niaz Ahmed Sir himself came to the police station.”
The VC talked to police officials about the attack on the students. At the time, the Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Division Police and the affected students were also present.
A complaint (FIR) regarding the vandalism was filed by Dhaka University.
