
Banshbaria Ferry Terminal to be developed as permanent terminal: Fouzul Kabir

The Interim Government Adviser for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, has said, “Banshbaria Ferry Terminal will be developed into a permanent and self-sufficient ferry terminal.”
He gave this assurance on Saturday noon while inspecting the Banshbaria Ferry Terminal.
The Adviser said, “I came to inspect the damages in the terminal area caused during the monsoon season. Additional sheds for passengers and drivers, deep tube wells for safe drinking water, and other facilities will be ensured. These works are expected to be completed within the next 8–10 days.”
During the visit, he also announced that construction of a 4-kilometer embankment road from Kumira Terminal to Banshbaria Ferry Terminal will begin soon. Besides , four sluice gates will be reconstructed, dredging of the terminal area will be completed quickly, and an environment-friendly tree plantation program will be undertaken around the terminal.
Officials from the District Water Development Board, WASA, Roads and Highways, Power Division, LGED, District Administration, Police, BRTC, Army, and Navy were present.
