A protest march and rally were held in Sandwip Upazila of Chittagong to protest against the conspiracy and insults against the acting chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP, Deshnayak Tarique Rahman ar 3 pm on Monday.
The protest rally was organized in front of the party office at Sandwip Upazila Complex by the initiative of Upazila BNP, Municipality BNP and its affiliated organizations. After the rally, a protest march started from the party office and circled the important roads of the upazila city and ended back at the office.
The protest rally was presided over by Advocate Abu Taher, convener of Sandwip Upazila BNP. BNP National Executive Committee member and former MP Mostafa Kamal Pasha spoke as the chief guest. The main speaker was Engineer Belayet Hossain, joint convener of Chittagong North District BNP. The rally was moderated by Sandwip Upazila BNP member secretary Alamgir Hossain. Thakur and Municipality BNP Member Secretary Abul Bashar GS.

At the beginning of the rally, Upazila Ulama Dal general secretary Shibli Nomani recited from the Holy Quran. A large number of leaders and activists of Upazila and Municipality BNP organs and associate organizations were present at the event. In their speeches, the speakers protested against the conspiracy and slander against Tarique Rahman and demanded punishment of the culprits and called for a united movement to restore democracy in the country.
