According to the complaint, road construction work under the TR project, costing 80,000 taka, began for brick soling from Chararhat to Saheb Ali Hawladar's house in Dakshin Talgachhia village, Shouljalia Union. Abul Basar, injured in the July movement, tried to divert the road toward his house. He claimed that, as a victim of the July movement, he had obtained approval for the road from the Upazila Executive Officer. Therefore, the road should extend from Chararhat to his house. This issue had been causing tension with local residents for several days. On Sunday evening, local BNP leaders and activists arrived to resolve the matter. During the resolution attempt, both groups engaged in an argument. Subsequently, a violent clash erupted between the two groups, resulting in at least ten injuries.
The president of the project committee, UP member Mohammad Masum Billah, said that brick soling work began on the road from Chararhat to Saheb Ali Hawladar's house. The clash occurred between the two groups over the location of the work.
