For 14 institutions in Moheshkhali upazila of Cox's Bazar, 145 pairs of high and low benches, were supplied under 'Upazila Development Assistance' (Special) Fund by the Upazila Parishad, Moheshkhali, for the financial year 2024-2025.
The official budget for this project was Tk 17 lakh 98 thousand 614.
However, Moheshkhali Upazila Engineer of LGED Md. Boni Amin Joni is allegedly playing hide-and-seek with this allocated bill.
Allocation of high and low benches in schooleide are : 'Moheshkhali Government Women's College' (Bigger Moheshkhali) 20 pairs, 'Swopnojatri Vidyapith' Kutubjom, Sonadia- 20 pairs, 'Bigger Moheshkhali Girls' High School' (Bigger Maheshkhali)- 10 pairs, 'Dhalghata Hosainia Badarul Ulum Dakhil Madrasa' (Dhalghata)-10 pairs, 'Talimul Quran Madrasa and Orphanage' (Kalaramarchhara)-10 pairs, 'Small Moheshkhali Multifaceted Ideal High School' (Small Moheshkhali)- 10 pairs, 'Ghonapara Government Primary' (Shapalapur)-10 pairs, 'Jolearmarghat Ideal High School' (Shapalapur)- 'Ahmadiya Kashemia Sunniya (Independent) Ebtedayi Madrasa' (Matarbari)-10 pairs, 'Uttornolbila Government Primary School' (Kalaramarchhara)- 'Tajiyakatang Mohammedia (Independent) Ebtedayi Madrasa' (Kutubjom)- 10 pairs 'Chaliyatali Darul Islam Dakhil Madrasa' (Kalaramarchhara)- 5 pairs, 'South Rajghat Government Primary School' (Matarbari)- 5 pairs, 'Cambrian High School' (Municipality) (This institution has not been officially included)- 5 pairs.
When asked about the project's budget, the Upazila Engineer of LGED, Md. Boni Amin Joni, said that the official budget is 15 lakh taka, but after excluding VAT, it remains 11 lakh taka. However, it has been seen in the government-issued documents that the allocation is Tk 17 lakh 98 thousand 614.
Concerned individuals have questioned the reason behind Md. Boni Amin Joni's concealment regarding the project's budget.
Moheshkhali UNO Md. Hedayat Ullah said, what Upazila Engineer Md. Boni Amin Joni has said is not correct. The official allocation for the project is indeed Tk 17 lakh 98 thousand 614.
