
Father murdered by drug-addicted son in N’ganj

In a shocking incident in Araihazar, Narayanganj, a drug-addicted son allegedly beat his father to death with a hammer after being denied money to buy a motorcycle. The accused has been identified as Md. Yasin (22), and the victim was his father, Md. Mahbub (42), a farmer by profession.
The incident took place on the morning of Friday in the village of Bishnandi Purbo Para under Bishnandi Union of the upazila. Following the attack, Yasin fled the scene and remains on the run.
According to local sources, Yasin was known to be addicted to drugs. On the morning of the incident, he demanded money from his father to purchase a motorcycle. When Mahbub refused, an argument broke out between the two. In a fit of rage, Yasin reportedly attacked his father with a hammer, striking him repeatedly.
Critically injured, Mahbub was rushed to the upazila health complex, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Araihazar Police Station, Khandaker Nasir Uddin, confirmed that police arrived at the scene shortly after being informed. The body has been recovered and sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Initial investigations suggest the murder stemmed from a dispute over money for a motorcycle. Police are currently working to apprehend the suspect.
