As part of the celebration of the glorious 33rd anniversary of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), a joyful friendly volleyball match was organized Wednesday at 4 pm at the RMP Lines field.
In this match, the Divisional Commissioner Volleyball Team faced off against the Police Commissioner Volleyball Team. Khondaker Azim Ahmed, Divisional Commissioner, and Mohammad Abu Sufian, Police Commissioner, RMP, were present and inaugurated the volleyball match.
The friendly match was held in a lively and festive atmosphere. In the game, the Police Commissioner Volleyball Team earned the glory of becoming champions by 2-0 sets, while the Divisional Commissioner Volleyball Team became runners-up.
The Police Commissioner said,
"Today’s friendly volleyball match has been organized to make the 33rd anniversary of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police memorable. Today’s match was highly competitive. We know there is victory and defeat in sports, but it keeps the body and mind well. The biggest thing is that this sporting event has further strengthened and deepened our mutual relationships. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the Divisional Commissioner and all the players and mentioned that such wonderful arrangements will continue in the future.”
The Divisional Commissioner said,
“Today’s friendly volleyball match organized on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police is undoubtedly a commendable initiative. Sports is not just a means of increasing physical capacity; it also makes relationships among people closer and builds a foundation of mutual respect and empathy. The match was enjoyable, competitive, and lively. This arrangement has strengthened our professional relationships as well as deepened personal bonds. I believe such events will help create a positive and motivating environment at our workplace. I extend my congratulations to Rajshahi Metropolitan Police for this creative and sincere initiative.”
At the end of the game, the Divisional Commissioner and the Police Commissioner handed over prizes to the winning team.
Also present on the occasion were Nazmul Hasan, PPM, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime), Mohammad Khorshed Alam, PPM, Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters), promoted to the rank of Additional DIG, and Afia Akhter, Deputy Commissioner, Rajshahi.
In addition, senior officers from the Divisional Commissioner’s office and RMP, police members, and invited guests were present, enjoyed the friendly match, and gathered together in the joy of the anniversary celebration.
