A human chain was formed by students from schools and madrasas, as well as the general public of all walks of life, demanding justice for the rape of a madrasa student in the Bajukathi area of the Durgaipur Union, Pirojpur.

The human chain was held in front of the Durgaipur Government Primary School on Tuesday morning.

Speeches were made at the human chain by Mohammad Parvez Sardar, a teacher from Darul Quran Nuria Madrasa, Maulana Mahabub Hossain, Mohammad Hafiz Sheikh, Acting Headmaster of Durgaipur Multipurpose Secondary School Animesh Halder, Assistant Teacher Kalyan Babu, Headmaster of Durgaipur Government Primary School Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Teacher Rupi Begum, Madhurima Khondkar, among others.

During the human chain, the victim's mother said, "On Sunday (April 20), when we went to attend the funeral of a relative, Mohammad Khokon Sardar of the area raped my daughter when she was alone at home. I demand the highest level of justice for this."
The speakers also accused Khokon Sardar of being a man of poor character who had previously molested several women and even raped his granddaughter. They further stated that he was involved in drug trafficking and consumption. They demanded the execution of the rapist.

The human chain was attended by the victim's relatives, students from the local Nurul Quran Nuria Madrasa, Durgaipur Union Multipurpose Secondary School, Durgaipur Government Primary School, along with teachers, guardians, and local residents.

OC  of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station, Rabbiul Islam, stated that the accused Mohammad Khokon Sardar has been arrested and is being interrogated.
